Member Communications and Newsletter Policy

This Member Communications and Newsletter Policy explains the emails and notifications BareAnime may send to registered members and newsletter subscribers.

In this policy:

  • “BareAnime,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to BareAnime.
  • “Member” means a person who creates a BareAnime account.
  • “Subscriber” means a person who chooses to receive BareAnime newsletters or new-content notifications.
  • “You” and “your” refer to BareAnime members, subscribers, and users.

This policy should be read together with BareAnime’s Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Community Guidelines.

1. BareAnime Membership

A BareAnime account may allow members to:

  • Create a public username
  • Build and manage a profile
  • Upload original anime theories
  • Edit or manage submitted theories
  • Receive account and theory-related notifications
  • Follow new BareAnime content
  • Access future community features introduced by BareAnime

The exact account features available may change as BareAnime develops.

Creating an account does not automatically mean that every submitted theory will be approved, published, promoted, or retained.

2. Account and Service Emails

By creating a BareAnime account, you agree that BareAnime may send emails reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and administer the account.

These messages may include:

  • Email-address verification
  • Welcome and account-setup instructions
  • Password-reset messages
  • Login or security alerts
  • Changes to your username, profile, or account
  • Notices concerning your uploaded theories
  • Submission confirmations
  • Approval, rejection, revision, or removal notices
  • Replies to support requests
  • Moderation warnings
  • Community-guideline notices
  • Account suspension or termination notices
  • Material changes to applicable policies
  • Privacy or legal notices
  • Transactional messages relating to services you request

These are service or administrative communications rather than optional marketing emails.

You may not be able to opt out of essential account communications while keeping the related account or feature active.

You may stop most account communications by closing your BareAnime account, subject to any records BareAnime must retain for legal, security, moderation, or business purposes.

3. New-Content Notifications

BareAnime may allow you to receive notifications when new content is published.

These notifications may include:

  • New anime theories
  • New articles
  • New videos
  • New series or category content
  • Updates to existing theories
  • Featured member theories
  • Important BareAnime announcements
  • New community features

New-content notifications are optional unless a particular notification is strictly necessary to administer content you submitted or an account feature you requested.

You may unsubscribe from general new-content notifications without deleting your BareAnime account.

4. Newsletter Consent

BareAnime will request separate consent before adding you to an optional marketing or newsletter list where legally required.

Creating an account, uploading a theory, submitting a contact form, or making a purchase does not by itself mean that you have agreed to receive optional promotional emails.

The newsletter-consent option should not be preselected.

You may choose to receive BareAnime newsletters containing:

  • New-content announcements
  • Featured theories
  • Member-content highlights
  • Anime and manga discussions
  • Website updates
  • Product announcements
  • Affiliate recommendations
  • Sponsored content
  • Promotions
  • Surveys
  • Community announcements

The content and frequency may change as BareAnime develops.

5. Newsletter Frequency

BareAnime may send newsletters or new-content notifications when relevant content is published.

The frequency may vary depending on:

  • BareAnime’s publishing schedule
  • The content categories you select
  • Major website announcements
  • Community activity
  • Promotional campaigns
  • Your communication preferences

BareAnime will avoid intentionally sending unnecessary or excessive messages.

6. Personalized Notification Preferences

BareAnime may eventually allow members to select which notifications they receive.

Available preferences may include:

  • All new content
  • One Piece content
  • Naruto or Boruto content
  • Other individual anime or manga series
  • BareAnime original theories
  • Member-submitted theories
  • Similarities in Anime
  • Shop announcements
  • Promotional offers
  • Account activity
  • Replies or interactions
  • Moderation notices

Some essential account, security, legal, and submission-status communications may remain active while the related account or feature is in use.

BareAnime will update this policy or the applicable preference controls when additional notification types become available.

7. Theory-Submission Notifications

When you upload a theory, BareAnime may send messages concerning that submission.

These messages may include:

  • Confirmation that the theory was received
  • Requests for missing information
  • Requests for revisions
  • Approval or publication notices
  • Rejection notices
  • Moderation decisions
  • Copyright or attribution concerns
  • Comments or replies relating to the theory
  • Notices that the theory was edited, restricted, or removed
  • Changes to submission requirements

These notifications are connected to the service you requested and may be necessary to administer your submission.

Unsubscribing from general newsletters will not necessarily stop theory-submission messages.

8. Public Profiles and Usernames

BareAnime members may be able to create a public profile and choose a username.

Profile-related communications may include:

  • Username confirmation
  • Requests to change an inappropriate or infringing username
  • Profile-approval notices
  • Account-security messages
  • Notifications about public profile activity
  • Notices concerning content displayed on the profile

Your username, profile information, and published theories may be visible publicly.

Do not include private information in a username, biography, theory, profile image, or other public field.

9. Affiliate and Sponsored Content in Emails

BareAnime newsletters and new-content notifications may contain:

  • Affiliate links
  • Product recommendations
  • Sponsored sections
  • Advertisements
  • Paid partnerships
  • Links to Shop.BareAnime.com

When required, affiliate or sponsored relationships will be disclosed clearly within the email or near the relevant recommendation.

Selecting an affiliate link may allow BareAnime to earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

10. Email Tracking

BareAnime or its email-service provider may use technologies such as tracking pixels and tagged links to measure:

  • Email delivery
  • Email opens
  • Link selections
  • Unsubscribe activity
  • Failed deliveries
  • General engagement
  • Campaign performance

Where required by applicable law, BareAnime will obtain consent before using optional email-tracking technologies.

You may be able to limit certain tracking by:

  • Changing your email preferences
  • Blocking external images
  • Unsubscribing
  • Adjusting privacy settings in your email application

Email tracking and subscriber data are handled according to BareAnime’s Privacy Policy.

11. Email-Service Providers

BareAnime may use Jetpack Newsletter, provided by Automattic Inc., or another email-service provider to:

  • Store subscriber information
  • Send newsletters
  • Send new-post notifications
  • Record consent
  • Process unsubscribe requests
  • Manage delivery failures
  • Measure email performance
  • Protect against spam and abuse

BareAnime will update its Privacy Policy when a different provider is adopted or when an additional provider materially changes how subscriber information is handled.

12. Double Opt-In

BareAnime may use a double opt-in process.

Under double opt-in:

  1. You submit your email address.
  2. BareAnime or its email provider sends a confirmation message.
  3. You confirm the subscription through the link in that message.
  4. Your optional newsletter subscription becomes active.

Double opt-in helps verify that:

  • The email address belongs to the person subscribing
  • The subscription was intentional
  • Consent can be documented
  • Mistyped or unauthorized subscriptions are reduced

Failure to confirm may mean that optional newsletter messages are not sent.

Account creation and newsletter subscription may use separate confirmation processes.

13. Unsubscribing

Every BareAnime marketing newsletter should include a visible unsubscribe link.

You may also request removal by contacting BareAnime.

After unsubscribing:

  • You should stop receiving optional marketing newsletters after the request is processed.
  • You may continue receiving essential account or service messages.
  • You may continue receiving order-related messages for purchases.
  • You may continue receiving replies to requests you submitted.
  • BareAnime may retain a limited suppression record to prevent accidental resubscription.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not automatically delete your BareAnime account, profile, theories, comments, or order history.

14. Closing Your Account

You may request closure of your BareAnime account through available account settings or by contacting BareAnime.

Account closure may stop most account-related communications after processing.

However, BareAnime may retain or continue sending communications reasonably necessary to:

  • Confirm account closure
  • Complete an existing transaction
  • Resolve an active dispute
  • Address copyright or moderation issues
  • Protect security
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Respond to a request you made

Published theories or comments may be deleted, anonymized, disassociated from your profile, or retained as described in BareAnime’s Terms and Conditions and User-Generated Content Agreement.

15. Resubscribing

You may resubscribe to optional newsletters after unsubscribing.

BareAnime may require you to:

  • Submit the signup form again
  • Confirm your email address
  • Select new notification preferences
  • Complete double opt-in

BareAnime will not treat an old consent record as permanent authorization after you have withdrawn consent.

16. Updating Your Email Preferences

You may be able to update your preferences through:

  • An unsubscribe or preference link in an email
  • Your BareAnime account
  • A notification-settings page
  • A subscriber-management page
  • A request sent to BareAnime

Preference changes may take a reasonable amount of time to process.

Messages already queued before the change may still arrive.

17. Email Address Accuracy

You are responsible for providing an email address that you are authorized to use.

You should update your account if your email address changes.

BareAnime may suspend email delivery when:

  • Messages repeatedly bounce
  • The address appears invalid
  • The provider marks messages as undeliverable
  • Fraud or abuse is suspected
  • The recipient reports that the subscription was unauthorized

BareAnime may request verification before changing the email address associated with an account.

18. Spam and Deliverability

BareAnime cannot guarantee that every message will reach your inbox.

Messages may be:

  • Filtered into spam
  • Blocked by an email provider
  • Delayed
  • Rejected
  • Categorized under Promotions or Updates
  • Prevented by mailbox limits or security settings

You may need to:

  • Add BareAnime to your contacts
  • Mark a message as not spam
  • Confirm your subscription
  • Check your email preferences
  • Allow images or links
  • Contact your email provider

BareAnime will make reasonable efforts to follow applicable anti-spam requirements.

19. No Purchased Email Lists

BareAnime does not intend to add people to its newsletter through purchased, rented, scraped, or unlawfully obtained email lists.

BareAnime will not knowingly send marketing emails to people who did not subscribe or otherwise provide legally valid permission.

Members should not upload or submit other people’s email addresses for newsletter enrollment without authorization.

20. Referrals and Invitations

If BareAnime introduces referral or invitation features, users may be allowed to invite others.

Referral systems should not be used to:

  • Send spam
  • Harass recipients
  • Upload purchased contact lists
  • Contact people without a reasonable basis
  • Misrepresent the sender
  • Evade an unsubscribe request

BareAnime may limit or suspend referral features that are abused.

A referred person should control whether they join BareAnime or subscribe to optional communications.

21. Children’s Privacy

BareAnime is not directed to children under 13.

Children under 13 may not create a BareAnime account, upload theories, or subscribe to newsletters.

BareAnime does not knowingly collect an email address or other personal information from a child under 13 without legally valid parental consent.

If BareAnime learns that a child under 13 created an account or subscribed without valid authorization, BareAnime may delete the account and associated information.

A parent or legal guardian may contact BareAnime to report a concern.

22. International Subscribers

BareAnime is operated from the United States and may send communications to subscribers worldwide.

Consent, recordkeeping, and unsubscribe requirements differ by jurisdiction.

Where required by applicable law, BareAnime will:

  • Request affirmative consent
  • Avoid preselected marketing boxes
  • Record the date and method of consent
  • Identify the sender
  • Explain the general content of the emails
  • Provide an unsubscribe method
  • Honor withdrawal of consent
  • Limit optional tracking until appropriate consent is obtained

23. Changes to Communications

BareAnime may change the types, format, or frequency of communications as the platform develops.

New features may include:

  • Comment notifications
  • Theory-following notifications
  • Member-to-member interactions
  • Profile updates
  • Personalized recommendations
  • Digest emails
  • Mobile or browser notifications
  • Shop announcements
  • Community events

BareAnime will request additional consent when a materially different optional marketing use requires it.

Essential service messages may evolve as new account features are added.

24. Changes to This Policy

BareAnime may update this policy when:

  • Account features change
  • Newsletter providers change
  • Notification tools change
  • Community features are introduced
  • New communication categories are added
  • Applicable laws change

The “Last updated” date will identify the current version.

Material changes may be communicated through email, an account notice, or a notice on the Website where appropriate.
