BareAnime is a community for anime and manga fans to share theories, interpretations, analysis, evidence, and respectful debate.
These Community Guidelines explain what members may post, how members should interact, and how BareAnime may moderate profiles, theories, comments, usernames, images, links, and other community activity.
These Guidelines apply to:
- BareAnime member accounts
- Public profiles
- Usernames and display names
- Profile images and biographies
- Theory submissions
- Comments and replies
- Ratings, reactions, and votes
- Uploaded images and attachments
- Links
- Reports and appeals
- Private or direct messaging, if introduced
- Any other user-generated feature operated by BareAnime
These Guidelines form part of BareAnime’s Terms and Conditions.
By creating an account or participating in BareAnime’s community, you agree to follow them.
1. The Purpose of the BareAnime Community
BareAnime exists to encourage:
- Original anime and manga theories
- Evidence-based analysis
- Respectful disagreement
- Canon discussion
- Speculation clearly identified as speculation
- Comparisons between stories and characters
- Creative interpretations
- Constructive feedback
- Discussion between fans with different opinions
- Discovery of new creators and ideas
BareAnime does not require every theory to be correct.
Members may challenge theories, evidence, interpretations, and conclusions. However, disagreements must focus on the content rather than attacking the person who posted it.
2. Basic Community Standard
Participate in good faith.
You may:
- Disagree strongly
- Criticize a theory
- Question evidence
- Point out canon errors
- Present a competing interpretation
- Debate powerscaling
- Discuss controversial characters or story decisions
- Express negative opinions about an anime, manga, adaptation, or creator’s work
You may not use disagreement as an excuse to:
- Harass
- Threaten
- Humiliate
- Stalk
- Dox
- Impersonate
- Discriminate
- Spam
- Intimidate
- Encourage others to target a member
Attack the argument, not the person.
3. Original Theory Submissions
Members may submit original anime and manga theories.
A theory should contain enough original thought to provide meaningful value. BareAnime may reject submissions that consist mainly of:
- A title with no explanation
- A copied social-media post
- A single unsupported sentence
- Rewritten material from another creator
- Automatically generated filler
- A plot summary with no original analysis
- A collection of screenshots without commentary
- A link directing readers elsewhere without meaningful content
- Repeated versions of the same submission
- Content created primarily to manipulate search traffic
BareAnime may establish minimum requirements for:
- Word count
- Title clarity
- Formatting
- Evidence
- Source references
- Images
- Categories
- Spoiler labels
- Grammar
- Originality
Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee publication.
4. Fact, Canon, and Theory
Members should distinguish between:
- Confirmed canon
- Official supplemental information
- Adaptation-only material
- Translation differences
- Unconfirmed reports
- Leaks
- Personal interpretation
- Speculation
- Headcanon
Do not knowingly present speculation as confirmed fact.
When possible, support factual claims with references such as:
- Manga chapters
- Anime episodes
- Official databooks
- Official novels
- Creator interviews
- Publisher materials
- Licensed guides
- Other official sources
BareAnime may request a source when a submission makes a specific factual claim.
A theory will not be removed merely because it is unlikely, unconventional, or ultimately proven wrong.
5. Canon Disagreements
Anime and manga canon may differ because of:
- Manga and anime differences
- Official translation differences
- Dub and subtitle differences
- Regional editions
- Retcons
- Databooks
- Supplemental novels
- Creator interviews
- Later chapters or episodes
Members should explain which version or source they are discussing when the distinction matters.
Do not accuse another member of lying merely because the two of you rely on different translations or adaptations.
6. Spoilers
BareAnime discusses current anime and manga developments. Spoilers are expected in many areas of the site.
Members must use spoiler labels or available spoiler-formatting tools when required.
A submission title, profile image, thumbnail, or excerpt should not reveal a major recent development when BareAnime has designated that material as spoiler-sensitive.
Spoilers may include:
- Character deaths
- Major identities
- New transformations
- Final battles
- Betrayals
- Major relationships
- Unreleased adaptation material
- Recent manga developments
- Endings
- Major power reveals
BareAnime may establish different spoiler windows for different series.
When no specific spoiler window is displayed, use clear judgment and avoid placing major recent spoilers in titles or profile images.
BareAnime does not guarantee that every spoiler will be labeled or hidden. Users are responsible for deciding which discussions they access.
7. Leaks and Unofficial Early Material
BareAnime may permit discussion of publicly circulating leaks when clearly labeled and when the discussion itself is lawful.
Members may not upload or link directly to:
- Complete leaked manga chapters
- Unauthorized scans
- Stolen manuscripts
- Unreleased episodes
- Pirated films
- Raw episode files
- Paywalled leaks
- Illegally obtained production materials
- Complete copyrighted scripts
- Other unlawfully distributed material
Do not present an unconfirmed leak as verified canon.
BareAnime may remove leak-related content to reduce legal, security, or misinformation risks.
8. Copyright and Ownership
Submit only content that you created or are legally allowed to use.
Copyright may protect original writing, photographs, artwork, videos, and other content automatically when the work is created and fixed in a tangible form.
Members may not upload:
- Complete manga chapters
- Unauthorized manga panels in excessive quantities
- Complete anime episodes
- Long uninterrupted video scenes
- Pirated streaming links
- Stolen artwork
- Another person’s article
- Another person’s theory script
- Reuploaded videos
- Copyrighted music without authorization
- Paid or subscriber-only content
- Images copied from another fan artist without permission
- Material removed after a valid copyright complaint
Limited quotations, panels, screenshots, or clips may sometimes be permitted for genuine commentary, criticism, or analysis. However, fair use depends on the circumstances and is not guaranteed merely because a member provides credit or calls the post educational.
BareAnime may remove material that creates a substantial infringement risk.
9. Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes presenting another person’s ideas, wording, structure, research, artwork, or creative work as your own.
Members may not:
- Copy another theory word for word
- Closely rewrite another theory without credit
- Copy a video script into an article
- Copy an article into a video script
- Translate another creator’s work and claim authorship
- Remove watermarks or credits
- Submit AI-reworded copies of another person’s work
- Copy another member’s unique structure, examples, and argument while making only superficial changes
- Repost another person’s social-media thread as an original theory
When discussing another creator’s theory:
- Name the creator where reasonably possible
- Link to the original source where appropriate
- Clearly separate their argument from your response
- Add substantial original analysis
- Do not reproduce more material than needed
Attribution does not automatically make extensive copying acceptable.
10. Similar Theories
Different people may independently develop similar theories.
The existence of a similar premise does not by itself prove plagiarism.
BareAnime may consider:
- Publication dates
- Identical wording
- Unusual shared errors
- Matching structure
- Matching examples
- Matching evidence order
- Private drafts or records
- Whether the later post provides attribution
- Whether the overlap involves general ideas or specific original expression
BareAnime will not declare ownership of broad ideas such as:
- A character may still be alive
- Two characters may be related
- An object may be an Ancient Weapon
- A villain may join an alliance
- A power may have a hidden origin
Original wording and detailed creative expression receive stronger protection than broad theory concepts.
11. Artificial Intelligence
Members may use artificial-intelligence tools to assist with:
- Grammar
- Organization
- Outlining
- Brainstorming
- Formatting
- Translation
- Research organization
Members remain responsible for everything they submit.
AI-assisted content must not:
- Copy another creator
- Invent sources
- Fabricate quotations
- Present false chapter references
- Impersonate a real person
- Flood the site with low-quality posts
- Repackage copyrighted material
- Misrepresent automated work as personal experience
- Contain unlawful material
BareAnime may require disclosure when a submission is substantially generated by artificial intelligence.
BareAnime may reject mass-produced or low-effort AI content even when it does not violate copyright.
12. Images and Profile Media
Uploaded images must comply with these Guidelines.
Do not upload:
- Stolen fan art
- Unlicensed commercial artwork
- Pornographic material
- Graphic sexual content
- Child sexual abuse material
- Images sexualizing minors
- Extreme gore posted primarily to shock
- Private photographs of another person
- Doxxing material
- Fraudulent documents
- Malicious files
- Impersonation images
- Images containing another person’s private contact information
Anime screenshots or manga panels used in theory submissions should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for commentary or identification.
Do not upload complete image galleries that substitute for the official work.
BareAnime may crop, resize, compress, reject, or remove uploaded media for presentation, security, copyright, or moderation reasons.
13. Sexual Content
BareAnime may permit limited discussion of mature themes when relevant to anime or manga analysis.
Members may not post:
- Pornography
- Explicit sexual acts
- Fetish content
- Solicitation of sexual services
- Nonconsensual sexual imagery
- Sexual exploitation
- Sexual content involving minors
- Sexualized images of real minors
- Sexual roleplay involving minors
- Requests for sexual content involving minors
- Links to prohibited sexual material
Sexual discussion involving fictional characters identified or depicted as minors may also be restricted or removed.
BareAnime may apply stricter standards than the minimum required by law.
14. Child Safety
Content involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children is strictly prohibited.
This includes actual or suspected child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, and attempts to distribute or obtain such material.
BareAnime may immediately:
- Remove the content
- Suspend the account
- Preserve relevant records
- Report the matter to the appropriate service or authorities
- Cooperate with lawful investigations
The U.S. Department of Justice directs reports of suspected online child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline or appropriate law-enforcement channels.
Do not download, save, forward, or repost suspected illegal material in an attempt to report it. Use the site’s reporting system and provide the page location instead.
15. Harassment and Bullying
Members may not engage in targeted harassment.
Prohibited behavior includes:
- Repeated unwanted contact
- Coordinated dogpiling
- Encouraging followers to target someone
- Insults focused on personal characteristics
- Mocking a disability or medical condition
- Sexual harassment
- Threatening someone’s employment or family
- Following a member across unrelated posts to provoke them
- Creating accounts to continue contact after being blocked
- Posting humiliating private communications
- Using slurs to attack a person
- Celebrating or encouraging real-world harm
Strong criticism of public content is not automatically harassment.
BareAnime will consider context, frequency, severity, intent, audience, and the target’s reasonable ability to disengage.
16. Threats and Violence
Members may not:
- Threaten physical harm
- Encourage someone to harm themselves
- Offer payment for violence
- Celebrate a credible real-world attack
- Share instructions for targeting a person
- Express a serious desire to injure an identifiable person
- Organize violent harassment
- Promote terrorism or violent extremist activity
Fictional anime discussions involving battles, deaths, or violence are allowed when clearly about fictional content.
BareAnime may contact appropriate authorities when a threat appears credible or immediate.
17. Hate and Dehumanizing Content
Members may not attack or dehumanize people based on protected characteristics such as:
- Race
- Ethnicity
- National origin
- Religion
- Sex
- Gender
- Sexual orientation
- Gender identity
- Disability
- Serious medical condition
- Caste
- Immigration status
- Other legally protected characteristics
Prohibited content includes:
- Slurs used to attack people
- Calls for exclusion or segregation
- Claims that a protected group is subhuman
- Praise of violence against a protected group
- Holocaust or genocide celebration
- Targeted degrading stereotypes
- Symbols used to intimidate or promote hateful movements
Discussion of prejudice within anime, manga, history, or culture may be allowed when presented analytically rather than as endorsement.
18. Personal Information and Doxxing
Do not publish another person’s private or sensitive information without authorization.
Prohibited information may include:
- Home address
- Personal telephone number
- Private email address
- Government identification
- Financial information
- Passwords
- Login credentials
- Precise live location
- Private medical information
- Names or locations of a person’s children
- Private school or workplace schedules
- Nonpublic legal records
- Information intended to facilitate harassment
Information being technically available somewhere online does not automatically make it appropriate to repost for targeting or intimidation.
BareAnime may remove content that creates a meaningful privacy or safety risk.
19. Impersonation
Do not impersonate:
- Another member
- A creator
- A voice actor
- A manga author
- A studio employee
- A publisher
- BareAnime staff
- A company
- A public figure
- A fictional official account
Parody or fan accounts must be clearly identified when confusion is reasonably likely.
Usernames, profile images, and biographies may not falsely suggest official affiliation, verification, endorsement, or authority.
20. Defamation and False Accusations
Do not knowingly publish false factual accusations about identifiable people or organizations.
This includes false claims involving:
- Crimes
- Abuse
- Fraud
- Plagiarism
- Professional misconduct
- Sexual behavior
- Employment
- Private relationships
Members may express opinions and discuss publicly supported allegations, but should distinguish:
- Confirmed facts
- Reported allegations
- Personal opinions
- Rumors
- Speculation
BareAnime may request reliable support for serious factual allegations.
21. Spam and Self-Promotion
Reasonable self-promotion may be permitted where relevant.
Members may not:
- Repeatedly post the same link
- Post unrelated promotions
- Create accounts mainly for advertising
- Send unsolicited bulk messages
- Manipulate comments to promote a channel
- Post deceptive shortened links
- Use misleading titles to generate clicks
- Promote scams
- Buy or sell engagement
- Use bots to inflate reactions or views
- Post referral or affiliate links without permission
- Hijack another member’s theory discussion
BareAnime may create designated areas or limits for creator promotion.
22. Affiliate Links and Commercial Content
Members may not post affiliate links, referral codes, paid promotions, or sponsored recommendations unless BareAnime expressly permits them.
Where permitted, members must disclose:
- Affiliate commissions
- Free products
- Sponsorships
- Employment relationships
- Ownership interests
- Other material connections
Undisclosed commercial promotion may be removed.
BareAnime may reserve affiliate and advertising placements for official BareAnime content.
23. Scams and Fraud
Members may not use BareAnime to:
- Request payment through deception
- Sell nonexistent products
- Conduct phishing
- Steal account credentials
- Promote fake giveaways

BareAnime may remove suspicious links and restrict accounts without advance notice when necessary to protect users.
24. Malware and Technical Abuse
Members may not:
- Upload malware
- Link to malicious files
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Probe security vulnerabilities without permission

Security concerns should be reported through BareAnime’s designated security-contact process.
25. Usernames and Profiles
Usernames and profile content must not:
- Impersonate another person
- Contain threats
- Contain slurs used abusively
- Include private identifying information
- Promote illegal activity
- Infringe trademarks
- Falsely suggest official BareAnime status

- Include malicious links
BareAnime may require a username or profile to be changed.
Usernames may be reclaimed when they:
- Infringe rights
- Mislead users
- Impersonate staff
- Remain inactive for an extended period
- Are required for official BareAnime operations
- Violate these Guidelines
26. Comments and Replies
Comments should contribute meaningfully to the discussion.
BareAnime may remove comments that consist mainly of:
- Personal attacks
- Repeated arguments
- Spam
- Unrelated promotion
- Copy-and-paste messages
- One-word provocation
- Spoilers placed deliberately to upset others
- Misleading links
- Harassment
- Attempts to derail every discussion
- Repeated demands for attention
- Content already removed
Criticism does not have to be positive or polite in every phrase, but it must remain within the broader rules against abuse and harassment.
27. Multiple Accounts and Ban Evasion
Members may not create or use additional accounts to:
- Evade suspension
- Evade a block
- Manipulate votes
- Support their own arguments deceptively
- Harass another member
- Repost removed content
- Impersonate multiple people
- Abuse promotions
- Avoid copyright enforcement
BareAnime may connect and restrict accounts reasonably believed to be controlled by the same person when used for abuse.
Having more than one account is not automatically prohibited unless BareAnime states otherwise.
28. Engagement Manipulation
Members may not artificially manipulate:
- Likes
- Ratings
- Votes
- Comments
- Followers
- Views
- Rankings
- Reports
- Trending systems
- Contests
Prohibited methods include:
- Bots
- Purchased engagement
- Vote trading
- Coordinated false reporting
- Multiple-account voting
- Incentivized fake reviews
- Automated refreshing
- Deceptive engagement groups
BareAnime may remove artificial engagement and restrict affected accounts.
29. False Reporting and Abuse of Moderation
Members should report content in good faith.
Do not report content merely because:
- You disagree with a theory
- You dislike a member
- A prediction contradicts yours
- Someone criticized your argument
- You want a competing post removed
- You are attempting to overwhelm moderators
Knowingly false, repetitive, or coordinated reports may result in restrictions.
A report does not guarantee removal.
30. Moderation Authority
BareAnime may take action against content or accounts that violate these Guidelines, the Terms and Conditions, or applicable law.
Actions may include:
- No action
- Informal guidance
- Editing formatting
- Adding a spoiler warning
- Removing a link
- Limiting distribution
- Locking comments
- Requesting revisions
- Rejecting a submission
- Removing content
- Issuing a warning
- Temporarily restricting features
- Suspending an account
- Terminating an account
- Preventing account recreation
- Preserving records
- Reporting unlawful conduct
BareAnime may consider:
- Severity
- Context
- Intent
- Harm
- Previous violations
- Willingness to correct the issue
- Whether the conduct was repeated
- Whether immediate action is necessary
- Legal or security risk
BareAnime is not required to use every enforcement step in order.
31. Emergency and Immediate Action
BareAnime may act without advance warning when content involves:
- Credible threats
- Child exploitation
- Doxxing
- Malware
- Fraud
- Account compromise
- Serious harassment
- Pirated material
- Court orders
- Legal obligations

Advance notice is not guaranteed.

- Spam detection
- Keyword detection
- Image screening
- User reports
- Copyright notices
- Account-behavior signals
- Artificial-intelligence-assisted review
Automated systems may make mistakes.
BareAnime may review or reverse a decision when appropriate, but does not guarantee manual review of every post or report.
33. Editing and Formatting Submissions
BareAnime may make limited changes to a submitted theory for:
- Formatting
- Paragraph spacing
- Headings
- Broken links
- Image placement
- Category selection
- Obvious typographical errors
- Accessibility
- Mobile readability
- Spoiler labeling
- Technical compatibility
BareAnime should not materially change a member’s argument or conclusion without permission unless removal or moderation is necessary.
More substantial editorial changes may require the member’s approval.
34. Rejection of Submissions
BareAnime may reject a theory even when it does not clearly violate these Guidelines.
Reasons may include:
- Insufficient analysis
- Poor readability
- Lack of relevance
- Repetition of an existing post
- Excessive factual errors
- Unsupported accusations
- Low originality
- Incomplete submission
- Excessive copyright risk
- Unmanageable formatting
- Promotional intent
- Content outside BareAnime’s current scope
Rejection does not necessarily mean the member violated a rule.
35. Removal of Published Content
BareAnime may remove or restrict previously published content when:
- New information reveals a violation
- A copyright complaint is received
- The member requests deletion
- The content creates a privacy or safety risk
- The account is terminated
- The content becomes technically incompatible
- The content contains dangerous links
- The content violates an updated legal requirement
- The content was approved in error
- Continued hosting creates significant risk
BareAnime may retain internal records of removed content for moderation, legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes.
36. Appeals
Members may appeal certain moderation decisions.
An appeal should include:
- Username
- Relevant page or theory
- Date of the decision
- Decision being challenged
- Why the member believes it was incorrect
- Supporting evidence
- Requested resolution
Appeals must remain respectful.
An appeal does not guarantee reversal.
BareAnime may decline repeated appeals that provide no new information.
Copyright removals governed by the DMCA may require the formal counter-notification process rather than an ordinary moderation appeal.
37. Moderator Conduct
BareAnime moderators should aim to:
- Apply rules consistently
- Consider context
- Protect private information
- Avoid retaliatory moderation
- Explain significant decisions where practical
- Correct clear mistakes
- Escalate serious safety or legal concerns
- Avoid using moderation powers to win ordinary fandom debates
BareAnime cannot guarantee that every decision will be perfect or that every violation will be treated identically.
38. Blocking and Muting
BareAnime may introduce tools allowing members to block, mute, unfollow, or limit interactions with others.
Members must not evade these tools through:
- Additional accounts
- Friends’ accounts
- Repeated tagging
- Reposting messages
- Off-platform harassment coordinated through BareAnime
Blocking another member does not prevent BareAnime staff from accessing relevant content for moderation.
39. Privacy Expectations
Public profiles, usernames, biographies, comments, and published theories may be visible to anyone.
They may:
- Appear in search engines
- Be quoted
- Be shared
- Be screenshotted
- Be archived
- Remain visible in cached versions
Do not publish information you expect to remain private.
BareAnime does not guarantee confidentiality for public submissions.
40. Direct Messages
If direct messaging is introduced, the same rules apply to private messages.
Private messages may be reviewed when:
- A participant reports them
- Safety is at risk
- Fraud is suspected
- Legal process requires disclosure
- Automated systems flag serious abuse
- Account security is affected
Do not use direct messages for harassment, spam, sexual solicitation, illegal transactions, or sharing prohibited material.
41. Age Requirement
Members must be at least 13 years old.
Members under the age of legal majority should use BareAnime with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required.
BareAnime may remove an account when it reasonably believes the user is below the minimum age.
Members may not attempt to obtain private contact information from minors or move conversations with minors into unsafe or inappropriate settings.
42. Community Safety Is Not Guaranteed
BareAnime will make reasonable efforts to moderate community activity but cannot guarantee that:
- Every submission is reviewed before publication
- Every statement is accurate
- Every user is who they claim to be
- Every harmful post is detected immediately
- Every copyrighted upload is identified
- Every interaction will be positive
- Removed material will disappear from third-party caches or screenshots
Members should use judgment and report serious problems promptly.
43. Reporting a Violation
To report content, use the available Report function or contact:
BareAnime
Email: Contact@bareanime
Subject: Community Report
Include:
- The page or profile URL
- Username involved
- Description of the issue
- The specific guideline involved, if known
- Screenshots where helpful
- Whether there is an immediate safety concern
Do not publicly confront a suspected scammer, dangerous user, or person sharing illegal material when doing so may increase risk.
44. Reporting Immediate Danger
If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services in the relevant location.
BareAnime support is not an emergency-response service.
For suspected online child sexual exploitation in the United States, reports may be submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline or appropriate law enforcement.
